Forty Years of DEVO (A Tribute Show)
It’s been 40 years since Devo released its debut album, and seven local bands will commemorate the iconic techno-pop group’s career in a tribute show to benefit the Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy. The event will feature performances by Radio Orangevale, A Death in Bloom, Instagon, the Hey Nows, the Roa Brothers Band, Empty Wagon, and the Jankies. Bands will perform more than two dozen Devo classics, such as “Whip It,” “Peekaboo,” and “(I Can’t Get no) Satisfaction.” All proceeds will benefit the Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy (SPMA). SPMA’s mission is “to support and advance access to lifelong learning opportunities in music arts education.” The organization has garnered praise in recent years for providing kids and adult learners the opportunity to perform in large-scale tribute shows, including fully orchestrated productions of three Beatles albums: Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the White Album. “The idea was to get a bunch of indie bands to put on a tribute show to benefit an organization that puts on tribute shows,” says Devo tribute organizer, Bobby Waller of the Jankies. “Music education is getting harder and harder to come by these days, and SPMA is doing a great job of teaching kids the ropes.”https://www.facebook.com/events/2063308537329738/

Kally O'Mally is a singer songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist who writes story based songs rife with bright harmonies, full string sections and catchy hooks. The 8-Tracks help bring her fun songs to light. Try a nutburger! “Gavin and Ollie” sounds like it could be the title for a quirky UK comedy but is actually Gavin Canaan, singer/guitarist from Pomegranate, teaming up with Ollie Morrish on piano/keyboards and performing as a duo playing a selection of originals and eclectic covers. Still likely to be a bit quirky and very much at home in an English pub.

Alyssa Mattson and Steven Denmark
Alyssa Mattson is a Sammie award winning singer-songwriter from Sacramento California. Best known for her musical stylings with folk band, Awkward Lemon, Alyssa is more recently exploring the stage as a solo artist, and brings a classic and intimate vibe with her original music. Alyssa is releasing her first full length album as a solo artist this Spring 2018 titled “Morph”, which puts an ambient modern spin on folk music.
Steven grew up in the foothills of rural Northern California. For as long as he can remember, music was in the forefront of Steven's life. Since he was 13 years old, Steven has been playing in bands, helping other artist create their music and touring the US and Australia. Six years ago, Steven made the decision to focus on writing the songs he's always wanted to. After many failed recording attempts, multiple songs thrown out or reworked, he finally had the songs he felt represented him as an artist. In march of 2017, Steven ventured out to Nashville TN to record his first full length record which was released on November 24th 2017.

The Joe Kaplow, Blue Oaks, and Eugene Ugly
Influenced by traditional American music and folk revival songwriters like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, music is Joe Kaplow’s way of taking stock of the journeys he’s been on and reminding himself to keep pursuing a sense of home.
"Blue Oaks’ music is a loose amalgam of blues, country, folk, rock ’n’ roll, and soul. The songs are gritty, mysterious and sometimes wander into the familiar sounds of past generations, all while taking unpredictable detours." - Aaron Carnes
Eugene Ugly is worried rock band. George is married, Victor fears nothing, and Cameron has a one-eyed dog.

Garage/Indie rock with an alternative spin. The Triple 7's are influenced by early Pixies but they don't have a bass player....cause they don't need one! Occupy the Trees was founded in August 2013 by members Charlie Sand, Parker Barnes and Christopher London. After looking for a drummer for some time Nathaniel Wilson joined OTT and thus formed Occupy The Trees as we know it today.
