November 2014 in Goose-music!

Let's be realistic. You have to go see your friends play music. They put all their spare time and energy into this wonderful gift of expression and they want to share it with you! The Goose is the perfect place to see sweet local performers because of it's intimate and rustic setting, delicious British and American foods, and a vast assortment of beers and spirits. Also, it sounds great! We've got a nice sound system and all this old wood and brick vibrates perfectly.

Early Times
Saturday, November 1st
Early grew up in Sacramento and became a fixture of the music scene on several fronts. His musical ubiquity was acknowledged as he received more Sammie nominations than any other solo artist during his time there. These nominations were far ranging and included Best Rock Musician/Vocalist; Best Singer/Songwriter; Best Local CD; Best Rock Band; Best Blues Band; and Best Jazz Band. Some of these were received multiple times. In addition, he received a Critics’ Choice Award as Sacramento’s Best Guitarist. His debut CD "Society For the Misunderstood" received Best Local CD of the Year honors from "Sac This Week".
Early left Sacramento in 1997 to tour the U.S. and Greece with blues singer E.C. Scott. He recorded two CDs with E.C. for Blind Pig Records. Lee Hildebrand of the San Francisco Chronicle gave a 4-star review of E.C. Scott's "Hard Act to Follow" and wrote:
"Featured throughout the album is the scorching guitar work of a Sacramento musician named Early Times."
Early then moved to New York City where he helped launch Sirius Satellite Radio and gave blues its first national radio station. He hosted a 6 hour radio show on Sirius Blues and watched the fledgling company grow from 0 subscribers to over 17million.
Most recently, Early has used his musical skills in New York City to help people with Autism, Down syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and other challenges and has been in demand for his work. He just recorded an original song called “Special Abilities” for a documentary about adults with developmental disabilities. (You can hear the track here: https://soundcloud.com/manhattanrecording-com/early-times-special-abilities)
He operates Manhattan Recording where he has been producing albums including an upcoming release from one-time Sacramento resident Gail George. (You can hear a track here: https://soundcloud.com/manhattanrecording-com/gail-george-world-painted-cruel) In addition, he recently recorded music for an upcoming film called “Used Books”.
