“If you were to grab Santana and the likes of Tom Waits, then toss in a little Dire Straits; blend them up and pour out a delicious music shake, you would have the James Israel Band. Heaven to the ears, music for the soul, this talent has no boundaries.” – KaZaZZ!

Forty Years of DEVO (A Tribute Show)
It’s been 40 years since Devo released its debut album, and seven local bands will commemorate the iconic techno-pop group’s career in a tribute show to benefit the Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy. The event will feature performances by Radio Orangevale, A Death in Bloom, Instagon, the Hey Nows, the Roa Brothers Band, Empty Wagon, and the Jankies. Bands will perform more than two dozen Devo classics, such as “Whip It,” “Peekaboo,” and “(I Can’t Get no) Satisfaction.” All proceeds will benefit the Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy (SPMA). SPMA’s mission is “to support and advance access to lifelong learning opportunities in music arts education.” The organization has garnered praise in recent years for providing kids and adult learners the opportunity to perform in large-scale tribute shows, including fully orchestrated productions of three Beatles albums: Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the White Album. “The idea was to get a bunch of indie bands to put on a tribute show to benefit an organization that puts on tribute shows,” says Devo tribute organizer, Bobby Waller of the Jankies. “Music education is getting harder and harder to come by these days, and SPMA is doing a great job of teaching kids the ropes.”https://www.facebook.com/events/2063308537329738/

Kally O'Mally & the 8-Tracks and Gavin Canaan and Ollie
Kally O'Mally is a singer songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist who writes story based songs rife with bright harmonies, full string sections and catchy hooks. The 8-Tracks help bring her fun songs to light. Try a nutburger! “Gavin and Ollie” sounds like it could be the title for a quirky UK comedy but is actually Gavin Canaan, singer/guitarist from Pomegranate, teaming up with Ollie Morrish on piano/keyboards and performing as a duo playing a selection of originals and eclectic covers. Still likely to be a bit quirky and very much at home in an English pub.
