April's musical goosiness.

Every Wednesday is Northern Soul and Cornhole, our weekly night of classic rare soul, rocksteady, and northern soul. We're happy to be teaming up with local midtown internet radio station, The Grid FM. We should be up and streaming every Wednesdays show by Wednesday, April 2nd. Come throw some corn sacks and dare to move your hips to the sweet sounds of soulful music! 8 'til late/sacks @ 10pm.

Marty Cohen & The Sidekicks

Every first Thursday now we have Marty Cohen & The Sidekicks. They play original Americana/folk with a twist. Enjoy good feelin' music and great beer at the Goose!

The Golden Cadillacs
We've got the Golden Cadillacs back on Friday, April 4th. Seriously, this band kills us with amazing songwriting and slick guitars over perfect drums and bass. I can't say enough good things about this band. Not only are they so fun to watch, but they are all just super kind and ridiculously talented. Get up close and personal at your Goose.

Infinite Vastness
Hans & The Hot Mess

These cheese muffins are gonna make you very hungry, because after Infinite Vastness (starring our tripped out sound guy, Taylor) gets done rocking your face off you'll need to feed your self something greasy. Supposedly they have a bass player now. Bass players are important. And Hans says he's bringing his new drummer this time, so that's gonna probably make you very thirsty. You better just come early and get fueled up before hand because the kitchen closes at 9:30pm. Don't drink and drive and remember to smile at musicians because they are sensitive like comedians and bartenders. Don't take benadryl and drink lots of coffee.

Steve Mclane
Thursday the 10th it’s Steve McLane’s timeless acoustic tunes. Steve has been playing at Fox & Goose since the early days. He plays classics from Neil Young to the Beatles to Bob Dylan. It's a nice mellow way to spend a Thursday evening with a pint and a pasty. 8pm, free.http://www.myspace.com/stevemclane

Mike Blanchard & The Californios
This band plays Californicana and does it well. It's a matter of pride in the heritage of Califonia's American country and bluegrass music. Mike was the leader of legendary Sacramento rock band The Tattooed Love Dogs and now fronts The Californios with wife Laurie. She reminds me of Robert Plant sometimes, but it's mainly because she is amazing and her hair is really nice. Meow. Beer. Fun. Goose.

The Polymers
Blame The Bishop
We Just Met

The dudes are back... The Polymers are sveltey rock & roll with Frank "the Tank" French on drums. He's a legendary local drum animal and all around ridiculous young cheese teet. The Polymers are on myspace. Blame is led by local sound guru and heir to board at ye 'ol iron boat up the street, Sir Warren Bishop. We Just Met is a classic rock smorgasbord of fun jams. Drink some Bengal Lancer English IPA and enjoy yourself.

The Mike Justis Band
The Mike Justis Band plays acoustic folk on Thursday the 19th. Mike has played at the Goose for many many years, and his brand of classic acoustic music is always refreshing. Featuring Kathy Barwick, Mike Justis, Steve O'Neil, Jeff Sears, and Steve McLane, you're always in for some great Americana, Blues, and Classic folk music.

The Wet Nile Ramblers
April 18th, West Nile play high energy western garage and take no prisoners. Bring the whole family!

The Roy Thorpe Jr. Blues Band
Dead Larry

 Saturday, April 19th

Roy says, "This isn't normal blues, I'm mixing in Bob Marley in a Texas bluesy ZZTop way, but mostly Chicago blues..." Dead Larry’s powerful blend of high energy rock, dance and funk shakes the foundation of modern music. From rock driven sea shanties to pulsating dance beats, from shake-yo-booty funk jams to orchestral themes of space and time travel. Dead Larry is one thing: Original. Have you tried our Banger on a Bun? Put some Stilton on it and wash it down with a Guinness draught… good night.

Chicken & Dumpling
Chicken & Dumpling will be at the Goose on Thursday the 24th warming your night with down home blues. The duo consists of Charles the chicken on guitar and Julia the dumpling on bass. Enjoy this free show with a pint and a Shepherd's Pie... We don't serve chicken and dumplings.

Andrew Castro
Emily Kollars

On Friday, the 25th Andrew Castro from the bay plays acoustic pop styled music that is catchy and melodic while still providing thoughtful lyrics for the hopeless romantic. Emily Kollars is everything you could dream of with a fantastically soultry Sade voice and the best combination of r&b, pop, and jazz played by some local extremist musicians.

Be Brave Bold Robot
The Royal Blue
Simon Pure

Oh shoot, Be Brave Bold Robot is here with The Royal Blue and Simon Pure on the 26th. I better find something to wear. Dean is a fricking genius and you know it. His lyrics are adventurous and poetic stories of love and life, and his band is into it, so don't forget it! Royal Blue are Wilco-ish and Neil Young-ey. Simon Pure played here back in the 80's and will rock you out with 80's covers. Eat your self fitter and have a Pasty with extra gravy and Welsh Rarebit.
