May the Goose be with you...

Oh shoot, it's May already. There's a Food Not Bombs Benefit on Saturday, May 4th with The Four Eyes! KB & The Slingtones are on May 11th! Cold Eskimo is on the 18th! The Cash Prophets (Johnny Cash Tribute band) is on May 25th! Northern Soul! & Cornhole! every Wednesday! Be careful, with all this brilly music and spring all over this place you may be tempted to run to the hills. Just calm a llama down, and have a pint of Twisted Thistle... or better yet, a glass of Duvel should bring you back! Also, we've got air conditioning.

Wednesday the 1st of May is our weekly Northern Soul! party, and now it's even better with the addition of the super addictive and ridiculous bag toss game: Cornhole! We'll be holding a tournament once a month, and it's all to the sounds of rare soul and rocksteady reggae soul. It's similar to horseshoes, but involves bags of corn kernels that are tossed at a box with a hole in it. Get a point if you land on the box and 3 if you make it in the hole. Here's a little video on how it works: http://grab-media.com/premium-videos/4065062

Thursday is Jay Shaner and The Hey-Nows! playing Americana. The Hey-Nows! are an acoustic band that merge power pop attitude with Americana sensibility. Jay is definitely one of our favorites and they sound like this pub looks...

Friday the 3rd is indie rock from Spangler and pop from Kally O’Mally. No Kieran Strange though. Kally is a quirky singer songwriter with story based lyrics and rich harmonies. Spangler is led by Mr. and Mrs. Spangler with a New Pornographers meets Ryan Adams kind of sound.

Saturday night is a Food Not Bombs benefit featuring lovable nerd punkers The Four Eyes, glammy garage rock from Mondo Deco, and sweet female fronted candy pop from Nacho Business. All proceeds go to the hungry!! Food Not Bombs is not a charity, it's an energetic all volunteer worldwide grass-roots movement. There's a $10 entry donation and $1 raffle tickets for gift cards and stuff from local businesses are available.

Thursday the 9th it’s acoustic indie folk from Midway Marvels, Ruby & The Emeralds, and Gerard Moran. Midway Marvels is fronted by the mysterious and dangerous Bob Waller. Good music, nice people, and beer. Get over here!

Friday the 10th, O Street and Austin Robins play rocksteady reggae and soul at your favorite pub. O Street is fronted by the gorgeous and talented Shiree Cano. Come out and shake it up!

The 11th is the return of 3 amazing bands: Neil Youngy indie band Akron Engine (SF), dark country from The Bleedin’ Hearts, and sweet old rockabilly and country from the beautiful and enchanting KB & The Slingtones. You should probably have a pasty…

Steve McLane is back with his timeless classic acoustic music on the 16th. He's been playing at the Goose since the early days. Come check out his sweet sounds!

Friday the 17th, we welcome classic rock band Rockinbocker, indie country folk from San Francisco’s Goodnight Texas, and rock from Stoneberry. Come and enjoy great music, friendly people, and 19 taps of delicious beer.

Saturday it’s Cold Eskimo with a Radiohead meets Fleetwood Mac sound and featuring the incredible voice of Rachelle Martin, indie folk rock vocal harmonies from SF’s City Tribe, and sweet acoustic songs from Sean Fleming. The Eskimos are a Goose favorite that just fills this old brick and wooden pub with sonic love.

Thursday the 23rd it’s the fun and talented Mike Justis Band with their superior brand of acoustic folk.. Mike has played at the Goose for many many years, and his brand of classic acoustic music is always refreshing. Featuring Kathy Barwick, Mike Justis, and Steve McLane, you're always in for some great Americana, Blues, and Classic folk music.

On the 24th it’s indie folk from Chris Fairman, California country from Richfield, and indie rock from Punch-Out! (formerly Friendship). Come to the Goose and enjoy some eclectic sounds.

Saturday night we've got a spot on Johnny Cash Tribute Band! It's the Cash Prophets featuring Bobby Cash and his sons playing all your favorite Johnny Cash songs. The Vintage Vandals bring their brilliant classic rockabilly to this intimate venue too. Also, I want you to try a Twisted Thistle; it’s so ridiculously delicious.

Stepping Stone takes over on the 30th providing the return of Fox & Goose’s Irish Session. Come enjoy traditional Celtic music and bring an instrument! Let's try and make this a regular thing!

The 31st is hippy rock with The Followers of Sunshine, indie folk from Jen Rogar, and folk rock from Gene Lives. Support local live music and drink beer regularly.

Don’t forget that every Wednesday we have Northern Soul! & Cornhole! Try something new at your favorite pub... you might like it!
