The Fox & Goose is a unique place to see music and hang out. It's a public house party almost every night. Check out what's going on this October and get over here for great beer, a huge variety of British, Irish, and American food, and some of the best live music to be heard in Sacramento. Come celebrate Halloween with us on Saturday, October 27th with Whiskey & Stitches and Stout Rebellion, at our Halloween themed Pub Quiz on Tuesday the 30th, or get your scary soul/rocksteady party going on with the Sacto Soul Rebels Wednesday the 31st!

The 4th is The Mike Justis Band. Mike has played at the Goose for many many years, and his brand of classic acoustic music is always refreshing. Featuring Kathy Barwick, Mike Justis, and Steve McLane, you're always in for some great Americana, Blues, and Classic folk music.

Friday, it’s the brilliant Cold Eskimo featuring Rachelle Martin’s amazing voice, Jen & General with legendary Sacto guitarist Mike Farrell, and from Seattle, it’s Let’s Get Lost who are influenced by The Beatles, Queen, and Elliott Smith. Live music is alive at the Goose.

Saturday night, the indubitable Be Brave Bold Robot will drive you nutter-butter with Autumn Sky and Justin Farren. Be Brave has been causing an uproar at the pub for quite a while with their emotional laments and purely ridiculous attitude towards energetic multi-instrumental rock & roll. Autumn is a beautiful ukulele princess that sings lovely songs of longing and won't stop. Justin Farren's incredible lyrics and fancy guitar finger play will send your mind on a wild river boat ride straight to your lovers heart. Don’t forget to drink London Pride with your banger rolls.

On Wednesday October 10th it's Steve McLane. Steve has been playing at Fox & Goose since the early days. His smooth voice and excellent guitar playing create the atmosphere we can only hope will last forever. Playing classics from Neil Young to the Beatles to Bob Dylan, he always leaves us wanting more, and its always a mellow way to spend a Wednesday evening with a pint and a pasty.

On Thursday the 11th it’s James Israel Band. The James Israel Band is a jammy Americana group. Check out some free live music and have a Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest beer.

The 12th we welcome Spider Garage with their Social D influenced rock & roll, alt rock from Wolfgang Vega, and singer/songwriter Dylan Champagne. Spider Garage plays soulful rock from the East Bay. Wolfgang Vega plays heavy alt rock kinda like the Foo Fighters. Dylan Champagne does post-Americana crooner math punk. Don't miss this exciting night of guitars and beer!

The 13th is Lucky Laskowki with his full band playing good old country, Flies in the Kitchen playing classic rock, and songwriter Patrick Walsh. Lucky is a local music producer and fronts his own country band. Flies plays a guitar driven mix of eclectic classic rock, blues, and originals. Pat is a multi-instrumentalist storyteller. There’s great live music at the Goose and you should come out to see it!

On Wednesday the 17th come out to Fox & Goose's Traditional Irish Jam Session, hosted by Laura Tjoekler.  Everyone is welcome and you can grab a pint of Guinness and just listen, or bring an instrument and join in!  Have an Erin Go Bragh(Ireland Forever) sandwich with corned beef, melted swiss cheese, and grilled onions on rye, served with chips.

The 18th is an incredibly good free show with Goodnight, Texas (Appalachian folk) and Erin & the Project (hypnotic indie/soul-ternative). Goodnight Texas create music with old wooden instruments and a vision of late nineteenth century blue collar America. Lindsay Erin and Paul Ezekiel are Erin & the Project and they compile lyrics that dive into positive consciousness and mysticism, while integrating soulful vocals, melodic piano, and strong rhythms throughout.

Friday the 19th we have Grizzly Buddha (circus alien disco rock from Ventura), Jack Rabbit Special (local soulful alternative rock), and the Oak Creek Band (female fronted roots rock from Denver). Influenced by the Beatles, Grizzly Bear, and James Brown, Grizzly Buddha has a funky/blues driven sound. Jack Rabbit fashion melodic guitars, sultry vocals, and groove-heavy rhythms. Oak Creek plays indie Americana pop. Don't miss the spectacular night of female fronted bands. And have a nutburger!

Saturday night it’s rock & roll from Moot, acoustic pop rock from Shelly Shepherd, and farmster bluegrass from Sweet Malloy. Moot plays alternative groove rock and employ a loop pedal. Sweet Malloy is from Ashland, Oregon and features Robert Doctor on drums. Bring a friend and enjoy quality music and a great selection of imported beer!

October 24th it’s local troubadour Stephen Yerkey. Stephen is a great songwriter, playing country, rock, and blues. Come enjoy a night of free music.

Thursday, it’s sweet indie folk tunes by Tor House and alt. rock from Sean O’Brien & His Dirty Hands. I love Tor House. They have great melodies, lovely harmonies, and well crafted arrangements with thoughtful lyrics. I wish they were playing in my living room right now, but seeing them at the Goose is pretty close. Sean O'Brien is like REM, XTC, and Nick Cave.

Friday the 26th it’s Brother Jimmie & the New Deal (acoustic rock), Pat Hull (Brooklyn folk-pop), and Myler & Starr (Wilco-ish). Brother Jimmie is kinda like Fleetwood Mac... little bit country, little bit rock & roll. Pat Hull is a dynamic singer/songwriter with great lyrics. Myler and Starr play smart Americana. Try it, you may like it.

Saturday night October 27th don’t miss the Samhain/Halloween Bash with Whiskey & Stitches and Stout Rebellion (high energy celtic rock) and dress up for the costume contest! It's the Saturday before Halloween so come get your ghoulish Irish demon out with these fantastic fellas. We've got some prizes for best costumes and lots of Guinness!

Tuesday the 30th we are having a special Halloween themed Pub Quiz with Kevin "the Iceman" Ice. Wear a costume and brush up on all your scary Halloweenie equations and history. Drink more and it will help you remember stuff that's locked away in your spooky closet brain.

On Halloween night, October 31st, we welcome Musical Charis (honest pop) and the Sacto Soul Rebels playing 60's rock steady style reggae. Rude Roots will be spinning some scary rhythms to warm up the night, the Soul Rebels feature Lesley Bruce on vocals, and Musical Charis will headline with songs from their new album! So get your costume on one more time, and let's have a super freaky dance party!
